Kurikulum Baru BI Diperkenal 2011
BESUT 13 Feb. – Kementerian Pelajaran akan memperkenalkan kurikulum baru Bahasa Inggeris dalam usaha memantap dan memperkasakan pembelajaran dan pengajaran bahasa itu di semua sekolah seluruh negara mulai tahun depan.
Timbalan Perdana Menteri, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Mohd Yassin berkata, pihaknya telah menyiapkan kurikulum baru itu dengan mengambil kira pelbagai aspek termasuk dari segi penggunaan Bahasa Inggeris British bagi memastikan impian menjadi suatu realiti.
Katanya, langkah itu sejajar dengan dasar Kementerian Pelajaran yang mahu memastikan semua pelajar di negara ini mampu menguasai sekurang-kurangnya dua bahasa selain Bahasa Melayu.
” Kurikulum baru itu amat menarik dan memenuhi cita rasa pelajar apabila diperkenalkan bagi membolehkan mereka mampu berkomunikasi dan menggunakan bahasa antarabangsa itu secara meluas.
”Ia akan diguna pakai tahun depan untuk murid tahun satu dengan konsep yang digunakan lebih kepada pembelajaran secara interaktif (fun learning) seperti penggunaan seni bahasa (Language Arts), tata bahasa, penggunaan sebutan dan pertuturan secara betul,” katanya.
Mengulas lanjut Muhyiddin berkata, sejajar dengan usaha itu, Kementerian Pelajaran juga akan mengambil 365 guru pakar Bahasa Inggeris dari luar negara bagi membolehkan mereka mengajar dan mendidik guru Bahasa Inggeris sedia ada di negara ini.
Beliau berkata, langkah itu adalah ke arah memastikan proses pengajaran bahasa antarabangsa tersebut berjalan lancar.
Katanya, penempatan mereka dibuat secara kontrak bagi membolehkan usaha secara terancang dapat dilakukan.
”Selain penempatan guru pakar, guru sedia ada di negara ini juga akan dilatih dengan pelbagai insentif dan galakan. Melalui tindakan demikian ia bakal menjadi suatu rangsangan untuk melakukan sesuatu ke arah yang lebih baik,” katanya.
Semoga apa yang dirancangkan oleh pihak berkenaan akan dapat mengurangkan masalah penguasaan murid dalam asas membaca terutamanya bagi mata pelajaran Bahasa Melayu.
